Leagues can be smart about going banked. Using the overview page to hunt a space down is really the first thing to do, yet you don't need a huge space or bank account to get started.  If you are a league wanting to go banked and bouting flat and are able to save some bout cash, a 4 stage system is recommended .

PHASE 1
A two car garage and $8K can get the first phase done.

PHASE 2
Next phase is to move in to your space and start the next $8K phase.

See track overview for space specs.

PHASE 3 AND 4
The final two $8K will get you there.

This way of becoming banked isn't fast but is the best option for most.
Your time frame will be set by your ability to raise the money in $8K bundles, planning is key to getting there.

You will also have other finical responsibilities that go with renting your own space.
The space issue is the main hurdle to going banked not the track itself.

\About Kitten Traxx

Kitten Traxx was found to redefine the roller derby banked track in the name of safety.  I have a masters in architecture and five years "eyes on" experience watching how my design reacts to the hard hits that current banked track roller derby skaters produce.  Three years after building the LA Derby Dolls roller derby banked track , I found another group ready to build in Oklahoma City called the Red Dirt Rebellion Roller Girls.  Working together they proved that anyone can build a Kitten Traxx as they built their track exceptionally fast.  In 09 three other leagues have bought plans with their goal to be banked for the 2010 season.  I am trying to standardize the modern track by being the front runner of roller derby banked track design.  Currently there are 2 Kitten Traxx skate able in the country with 3 more coming in 2010.  This means Kitten Traxx will be that standard roller derby banked track.
